This evening I was meditating in the woods under a full moon reflecting on the day and giving thanks to mother/ father God, immediately to my left I was joined by a barn owl Ho began Twit-T'wooing, a very special moment, in the light of the moon under one sky together with mother earth.

Dear Friends Barrie had a hernia operation three weeks ago. It should have been a routine procedure, but in his case it unfortunately went wrong. He is waiting for another appointment with the surgeon, to see what can be done if anything! As you may imagine, he is in a great deal of discomfort and also in a very disheartened frame of mind.

We are wondering whether you would mind including him in your healing prayers. Many thanks for this in advance and God bless you all.

Hallo everyone

Sorry not to have been around recently but as some of you know I am pretty busy at the moment with various work commitments. Which is why I'm writing this because I have some exciting news that I wanted to share with you. I am normally fairly quiet on the subject of my work and the books I write, but this is something I wanted to tell you about.

My new book, Red Sky at Night, is being published in the UK on 3 September. It's a compendium of countryside wisdom, from how to talk to bees to how to make your own wine. An extract from it is going to appear in The Times either tomorrow or Wednesday (they have yet to confirm which day); it's going to be reviewed in the Sunday Times this Sunday; other papers and magazines including the Daily Express and the Financial Times are also interested in doing something with it; it's going to be in the Waterstones 3 for 2 promotion; and Borders is also heavily promoting it.

Normally, my books are published and then left to sink or swim without any publicity, so to say that I'm thrilled by all this is like saying that Usain Bolt is a quite a fast runner.

Dear Friends to get the ball of our new book study group rolling, I have taken the liberty of starting this new thread with the whole of the Preface to the 2000 edition of the book of our choice, because this, in my view, explains the purpose of the Spiritual Unfoldment series better than anything else.

Naturally, I can only speak for myself, but I intend to participate in our study group by reading the suggested part of the book, whilst listening to my inner guidance to see what it has to say about the topic under discussion. As I go along, I shall make handwritten notes which I shall later transfer to my word processor, so they can be shared with you here, as appropriate. I would love to hear which way of going about this appeals to you most.

How to Discover the Invisible Worlds

And Find the Source of Healing

PREFACE TO THE 2000 EDITION

The teacher White Eagle, who is loved and respected by so many throughout the world, himself prompted the formation of a Lodge, as he called it, where he could give his teaching and where, through people working together, they could grow and unfold as in a small haven in a busy world. It was thus at the outset of this work that he called together a small group of his followers for a group to study spiritual unfoldment. Many of the participants were interested in the development of psychic gifts; others in the path of meditation; some came from a Theosophical background, while still more were pioneers of vegetarianism and of new techniques liar achieving health.

The scripts of those groups form most of the text of SPIRITUAL UNFOLDMENT 1. The original edition goes right back to 1942, but it was revised and recast in 1961, and it is that edition which has formed the basis for this re-vision and enlargement (2000).

Why enlarge and why revise? White Eagles teaching has always been a living dialogue between teacher and pupils, and the revision reflects growth in White Eagles work and changing emphases. The choices people make in todays world are different, and the selection of teaching needs to reflect those new choices. Thus there is more, for instance, on meditation in this new edition, and while the passages on psychic development have not been reduced, there is more about a natural unfoldment of clairvoyance, clear seeing, through looking subtly and with the heart at the natural world. There are additions to the chapter on right living, reflecting the responses readers may wish to make to our over-busy world; there is a section on the chakras, which were not fully explained in the previous editions; and there is now more in the chapter on karma, including teaching on Divine Mother that did not appear before.

Typical of the additions would be the whole section Unfoldment is through Harmony at the start of the book, a passage like `Hearing the great OM of Life in chapter five, and the passage headed A Meditation to bring Happiness in chapter eight; but there are plenty of shorter additions too, such as an additional paragraph on the power of thought in chapter nine.

In the more detailed editing, our desire (as it is currently in all the White Eagle books) has been to remove any narrowness of language which seemed not to be fully inclusive of both sexes, although White Eagle has always been a pioneer of the idea of the Father-Motherhood of God. As always in this endeavour, one words like brotherhood and brethren utterly resist changing. Master is not intended to be read as a masculine or feminine word.

The reader will find, on opening this book, that it represents not so much a programme of spiritual unfoldment as a meditation upon it, nonetheless one packed with wise help the sort of help that genuinely .allows us to understand life, to free ourselves from the pull of the emotions, and to stand clear and straight in a confusing world. It does not necessarily need to be read consecutively, although that is probably the best way to go about it; any of the sections will inspire, and many of them will alone as readings in groups or for private contemplation. Yet the approach is practical: feel free to use SPIRITUAL UNFOLDMENT 1 as a real course of action.

It leads on to three more books in the same series. Volume two is about the inner world of nature, the subtle forms of life that can be seen with the developed eye (and it leads on to another White Eagle book, recently published, entitled WALKING WITH ANGELS. Book three demonstrates how akin White Eagles teaching is to a modern mystery school, like those of the past, and will take the reader further in the development of his other subtle senses. Book four is subtitled The Path to the Light and also describes in detail the ideal of brotherhood. It continues the theme of unfolding deep understanding of the inner mysteries as we walk a path of light in service to God and all creation. The one who follows the path of light, says White Eagle, `enters into the fullness of eternal life, not in some life far away in some dim future, but here and now. He or she enters into a deep understanding of the power of the God-life within, which can control the mind and emotions, and which can sustain itself by drawing upon the eternal light of God; and uses it for the blessing and healing of all human kind.

At the time this preface is written, there is also in course of preparation a new White Eagle book, THE LIGHTBRINGER. It is suggested that this book, and in particular the chapter headed The Age of Intuition, will lead on usefully from the material in this book.

In her 1961 preface to SPIRITUAL UNFOLDMENtT 1 White Eagles medium, Grace Cooke, wrote of the life that opened to anyone who truly sought to unfold through service, meditation and healing.

In this book White Eagle shows us the way towards experiencing for ourselves while still on Earth the beauties of this more perfect life; and how an etheric bridge may be built between those incarnate and those discarnate, to their mutual joy and wellbeing.

He teaches that true clairvoyance is a deep spiritual experience. While it is admitted that there is a certain type of spontaneous psychic seeing, which appears to function in animals as well as in humans, a vast difference lies between these spontaneous seeing and true spiritual vision or clairvoyance. The former can be illusory, the latter is the result of knowledge and training of the spiritual faculties latent within every soul. By following White Eagles guidance we learn that there are numerous levels of vision-awareness or consciousness of another state of life. This awareness can range from the mere impression of some passing influence or shadowy form, lights or clouds of colour, to the clear vision of bright pulsating forms of highly-evolved beings, and of beautiful landscapes, temples of worship, music and art schools and colleges, which are part of the normal environment of a community on this higher life, beyond death.

Beyond again lie higher mental planes and celestial realms impossible to describe in earthly language. To be able to see these glories, and to retain a memory clear enough to leave an impression on the physical brain afterwards requires both steady persistent effort in the practice of the technique of spiritual unfoldment, and constant pursuit of the spiritual life. It is made plain in these messages that by spiritual life is meant God-aspiring life, wholesome, clean living, disciplined and well-balanced. Truly the student in search of spiritual illumination must manifest God to the best of this or her ability; he or she must worship God with heart and soul and mind, and by love of God and his or her neighbour promote a spirit of goodwill and kindliness in the community generally. White Eagle endeavours to show us that the development of power to penetrate reliably the dark veils which lie between the physical state of life and the spirit worlds, depends not only upon the acquisition of knowledge, but also upon the degree of simple Christliness developed within the soul.

`Devotion to the spiritual life and constancy of endeavour to master the technique of going within to find the heart of truth, to find eternal life, bring their due reward; thus you find yourself endowed with gifts of the spirit which make you free to contact the inner spiritual world at will, and convince you, beyond all shadow of doubt, of the immortality of the soul.

May this new edition bring only encouragement and hope.

OUR PAST AND US

Hi Everybody.
     I would be fascinated to know how much you think we are a product of our past. Not our recent past and not really our former incarnations, but our ancestral history and our country.
     I know that some people are very proud of their past. Arla is rightly proud of her Native American heritage.
     My own family history can be directly traced through my mother who's maiden name was Saxby (Anglo Saxon for village of the sword) right the way back in an unbroken line to the year 1047 including titles land and a coat of arms given for service to Queen Elizabeth the first in the sixteen hundreds.
     So I am not just British but English through and through. But how much of that is me and how much of each of our heritage is us?
     We know that we are spiritual beings and we know that we have lived before. I can only speak for myself but I have been Egyptian, Roman, I have lived in the Potala in Lhasa as a monk, I died in the first world war as a German soldier and I was killed on the beaches of Normandy, I have lived as a Christian monk and an Indian Sheik yet none of those lives have anything to do with my ancestral heritage.
     So am I, are we, the products of our ancestors or our spiritual experiences or a combination of both. I know that Arla is the product of her ancestral heritage but she hasn't always been a Native American.
     Does our physical DNA affect our spiritual DNA? The two would seem to me to be separate. I guess that a wise person would be wise in spite of and not because of their ancestors.
     How much, if at all, should we be proud of out ancestors and our country. Does our heritage have any bearing on who we really are?

Socially Conscious Music

In watching all the excitement over our American Idol and England's You've Got Talent it occured to me just truly how powerful music is.
I am a singer and I drum so at least I have seen how it affects those who enjoy it or those who don't.
I see more and more those who are sending out wonderful positive things in their artful medium of voice.

I love Tracy Chapman and what she brings to this venue in a positive way. My favorite songs of hers are *Heaven's Here on Earth* and * The Rape of the World*. Both show us things we need to look at.

Even the Eagles have walked in the positive venue with some of their songs.

Now what about you all? Who speaks to your hearts.

International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers

I was blessed to be able to hear Grandmother Agnes Baker Pilgrim teach this past weekend. She is the chairperson for the council and the oldest member of her Takelma Selitz Tribe.I can't put into words how wonderful she is.
The 13 Grandmothers are from several different countries. Their calling is wonderful.

Morning Greeting Dance

This morning I looked out my window and was greeted with a beautiful dance. As I watched him turn and cock his head from side to side and then circle and thump with his beat that is a connection to the Earth Mother I was in awe. Then when he would take his halting and then freeing steps he reminded me of a male Indian Dancer at Pow Wow. His calls sounded like the male dancer as he calls out in his vocables .The hen then standing and knowing he is there but as a female dancer never looking directly at him she would strut as if to say she approved of his dancing.
Turkey is very important to my people for many reason's. He provided meat and feathers that were used in honor in many ways.
He tells us of our self-worth and then the total of the give-away. At Pow Wow there is always a give-away as in many other ways we give. What is given is not something we don't have any value for anymore but things that are of importance. He is a master of abundance and the harvest time was a great time of abundance.
I am thankful for this morning dance and to be able to share it with you.

Glastonbury

Hi Everybody.
     Here for all you unfortunate people who have the misfortune not to live in this beautiful country (LOL), are a couple of pictures of Glastonbury.
     I try to get there every two or three months because the place is so spiritually charged that it is like plugging into the mains and recharging your batteries.
     Two thousand years ago this was the most important place in this country, it was the seat of the indigious religion before christianity and as most of it was underwater at the time, was probably the place known as the Isle of Avalon.
     The picture was taken from Wirrial Hill towards Glastonbury Torr. Back then these two landmarks would have been islands. When the christians arrived this was their first settlement, and the blackthorne bush in the picture is supposed to be a direct desendant the one planted by Joseph of Aramthia hence all the ribbons tied to it although these are now put there by so called New Age people.
     The place attracts a wonderful mix of people who practice all mannor of exotic religions including many who follow the old original Wicker faith. But no matter how strange the people it is easy to feel at home here among them, there is a sense of peace there.
     There is also a wonderful vegetarian cafe called the Blue Note, with great home cooked food and a good sense of humour, ( there is a big sign that says "Hippies please use the side entrance"). The shops are fascinating with lots of old second hand book shops where you can get any book on any spiritual subject you could wish. You can buy anything from incense to a crystal ball, from a rosary to a witches spell book, from an African drum to a Tibetan Bowl.
     I am not very active at the moment as I am soooo busy, But my love to you all as always. Graham

Tree Connection

So, I have always loved nature, but this spring I am finding I have this incredible pull/connection to trees. As I take my dog for a walk, I feel the strength of their roots well-grounded into the earth, the freedom of the branches swaying in the wind; the beauty and majesty of their very beings these past few weeks has just been overwhelming. I swear I can hear their voice(s). Why now, this connection to them? Any thoughts anyone can share?
